U.s. Turkey Free Trade Agreement

In today`s world, countries tend to participate in bilateral and regional free trade agreements, given that the World Trade Organization (WTO) has achieved a high degree of liberalization, WTO rules are not sufficient under current conditions, and the multilateral trading system is ineffective in allowing better market access. As a result of this trend, there are about 400 free trade agreements that are notified to the WTO. Trump`s move had shaken the Turkish lira. Since then, relations between the two countries have become strained, ranging from differences of opinion ranging from Ankara`s planned purchase of a Russian missile system to diverging interests in Syria. On 12th July the United States and the European Union concluded their first round of discussions on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) with a view to a free trade agreement. .
